Our Tropical Gardens
The Gardens
At Djarawong Lodge B&B there are an abundance of delightful tropical gardens in which to sit and contemplate. Follow the self-guided walking tour and find out what our plants are called. There are around 5,000 plants and trees for you to discover and enjoy.

There are pretty meandering pathways for you to ramble through and many delightful statues to enjoy. The Balinese influence of the property is mastered in the gardens with pagoda lighting and interesting statues. There is a dry stone creek bed under construction that flows when the weather is inclement and is fascinating to watch.

There are several water features in the grounds which give a cooling feeling to the day and with the tinkling sound of the water in the many ponds, it is so tranquil and captivating.

The gardens abound with heliconias, torch gingers, shell gingers, alpinias, native gardenias, licuala ramsii, tibrochena, golden pendas, ixoras which attract the butterflies, grevilleas for the native birds, and palms abound. We have re-vegetated the land with some beautiful Australian native trees including bloodwoods, lilly-pillies, river cherry, and jambos to name but a few. In a few years they will have created another nesting place for the abundance of birds.

The gardens are a beauty in motion, so as we feel that a new area should be created, we get to work and make it happen, but it is a labour of love.
